Eneco Toon

Together with Achtung! we’ve created a film for Toon, a thermostat that helps you monitor and manage your energy consumption. Sharing a vision of the future as well as the current features of the device.

As Toon can be operated via a tablet, we chose to build the story around this. Realistic 3D, an earthly yet clean color palette and warm sound design were used to achieve a personal and lifelike touch.

Be Sexy, Be Smart

Soa Aids Nederland asked us to help raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections and HIV among people living in the Netherlands from sub-Saharan Africa, Suriname, the Dutch Antilles and Aruba. Recent research has shown these groups to be at greater risk of infection due to cultural factors, which often result in them being less inclined to acknowledge the risk or seek help. This is not only bad for the health of the individuals concerned, but also the wider community. So there’s work to be done…

To have an impact on this audience, we knew we’d have to develop an approach which would resonate culturally. The film needed to balance clarity with playfulness to open minds and engage with a very serious message. It had to be sensitive to boundaries, yet direct enough to provoke action. We therefore set about writing a script with an authentic and powerful tone-of-voice, which avoided being patronizing.

Mostly inspired by African art we’ve crafted expressive hand-drawn graphics and fluent transitions to impart a personal touch and create a powerful visual language, which is easy to relate to for the target audience.

In addition to the general campaign film we also created a piece intended for general practitioners. They’re on the front-line in recognizing and advising on this issue, so raising more awareness in this arena is important. This film will be uploaded soon, so keep a close watch on our website.

It was a great project to work on, with many creative challenges. Although very labour-intensive working frame by frame, we feel the resulting look has a charming handcrafted feel to it. It is accompanied by an evocative sound track which intertwines with the narrative, creating a piece that will hopefully resonate with its audience and be very memorable. We hope you like it!

Sound of Ceres | BRYN MARINA - Official Music Video

Bryn Marina was written and recorded by Ryan Hover, Karen Hover and Robert Schneider in Fort Collins, Colorado and Decatur, Georgia. Bryn Marina is a journey through time and space- a story of how the human intersects with the universe and the relationship they share.

Over a year in the making, the Bryn Marina video was filmed in time-lapse using still cameras and macro lenses to capture children's “grow in water” toys as they slowly sprouted and came to life.

Sound of Ceres explores the wonders of our living planet through the lenses of mid-century lounge music, 60s pop, 70s nature documentary soundtracks, a single 80s drum fill, 90s shoegaze, and modern sampling techniques.

100 Years - Armenian Genocide

In this special year 2015, we did this 3 minute animation for the centenary of the Armenian Genocide. The Turkish government denies to the date that the genocide took place. It has passed a hundred years, today April 24th, and we`ll keep on fighting till recognition. This is a small tribute to the 1.500.000 victims.

Welcome to Airbnb + Making

When we travel, the world around us gets smaller. Friendships are made on the fly, landscapes are explored, and new experiences are found around every corner. And when you stay in an Airbnb listing, this small world feeling is amplified immeasurably. We've created a fantastic handmade world that dramatizes the feeling you get while traveling with Airbnb. It's an expansive world, yet truly personal. As the train travels through this world, the viewer gets to experience what is Airbnb and how Airbnb enables you to Belong Anywhere. Explore at airbnb.com

Welcome to Airbnb - Behind the Scenes

A behind the scenes look at the process of creating 'Welcome to Airbnb'. The film was shot through a small camera mounted on the model train in a single, 60-second take. All external movements are mechanical, not animated or done in post-production. All the different transitions that were hand operated had to be incredibly coordinated. It was a well-orchestrated effort to ensure that the 9 people who did several jobs at once were able to either fold things up before, or tilt things over and rotate things to ensure the one perfect take.

Box

Box explores the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping onto moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera. http://www.botndolly.com/box
