Imaginary Forces - Black Sails

It's 1715 and the golden age of piracy… a world where rebel pirates, collapsing shanty towns, whore houses, illegal treasure and the promise of the New World clash with the imperial forces of European civilization. Nothing less than a full-on art history mash-up of Baroque motifs, Gothic architecture and Rococo style could express this strange society, where outcasts and aristocrats alike vie for power. Using a sculptural language traditionally reserved for saints and kings, we depict a maverick society that is ultimately doomed. Beauty and death abound… as well as a skeleton or two…

Tune in to Starz on January 25th for the premiere of Black Sails.

God's Eye View

This is a montage of straight-down shots used in various films.

This type of shot is commonly referred to as a "God's Eye View" angle. The camera lens is perpendicular to the subject without any POV reference, which gives the viewer an omniscient viewpoint of the character and the surrounding space.

The video is cut to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Down Boy" from the "Is Is" album.

The Apple Tree Feat. The Glitch Mob

Track Selection was directly inspired by the band The Glitch Mob ( http://www.theglitchmob.com ) HERE IS THE MOVIE LIST!! FINALLY!! http://pastebin.com/2CGkxpEQ Clips are listed in order of appearance. It is not intended to tell a story. I didnt edit it that way. I wanted to relate sound to motion. So each and every cut you see was picked for a reason.

Programs I used: Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 / After Effects CS5 For those of you who find the video too long for one sitting, I dont blame you at all lol. 15 min is kinda visually exhausting. So I put times below so you can jump right to the segment you have time for. 0:39 Segment 1. Tv on the Radio - Red Dress (Glitch Mob Remix) 4:24 Segment 2. Evil Nine - All the Cash (Glitch Mob Remix) 6:20 Segment 3. Nalepa - Monday (Glitch Mob Remix) 9:42 Segment 4. edIT - Crunk de Gaulle (instrumental ) Credits Song: Boreta - Bubblin in the Cut

Time to complete: Id say total "just editing", not picking out clips or rendering/post work, bout 200 hours. Over the span of many days :)

Id also like to point out that there are no copyright infringements because I used public domain trailers for video footage and permission from song artist. Thanks to all involved in the production and creation of the movies used as well.

Comments as a result of not reading the description will no longer be approved. These include: Asking what movie is at what time. Asking what software is used or how long it took to make. No posts about its lack of "story" or length. However if you read the description and still wanna say 'it sucks' or 'its awesome' feel free. I just feel that I've edited the description about as many times as the video itself in an effort to address 90% of the questions on here and still no one reads it.
